Causes Of Male Infertility

1. Sexually transmitted Diseases:  Many sexually transmitted diseases cause only minor symptoms, many infected men do not get the necessary treatment. As a result a large number of men suffer the effects of sexually transmitted diseases induced infertility.

2. Retrograde Ejaculation: This occurs when semen which would normally be ejaculated via urethra is redirected to the urinary bladder. When the bladder sphincter does not function properly,
retrograde ejaculation may occur. Retrograde ejaculation is sometimes referred to as a "Dry Orgasm".

3. Low sperm Count: Low sperm count is the leading cause of infertility in men. Men with low sperm count find it difficult to impregnate their wives
. A sperm count of less than 20 million/ml is considered low sperm. Sperm count varies widely over time, and temporary low sperm count are common.

4Smoking/Drinking: when you smoke, your blood circulation decreases. when blood circulation decrease, sperm count also decrease. Smoking impairs sperm count, sperm motility, reduces sperm lifespan, and may cause generic changes that affect the offspring.

5. Retrograde Ejaculation: This occurs when semen which would normally be ejaculated via urethra is redirected to the urinary bladder. When the bladder sphincter does not function properly, retrograde ejaculation may occur. Retrograde ejaculation is sometimes referred to as a "Dry Orgasm".

6. Testicular Cancer: Testicular cancer is cancer that starts in the testicles, the male reproductive glands located in the scrotum. The exact cause of testicular cancer is unknown. There is no link between vasectomy and testicular cancer. Testicular cancer is the most common form of cancer in en between the ages of 15 and 35. It can occur in older men, and rarely in younger boys.

7. Structural Chromosome Abnormalities: This occur when there is a change in the structure or component of a chromosome. The total number of chromosomes is usually normal (46 total per cell). Structural chromosome abnormalities occur when part of a chromosome is missing, a part of a chromosome is extra

How to Prevent Cervical Cancer

1. Avoid being exposed to Human papillomavirus (HPV). Certain types of sexual behaviour increase a woman's risk of getting HPV infection such as

i. Having many sexual partners
ii. Having a partner who has had many sex partners
iii. Having sex at an early age.

2. Avoid Smoking: Carcinogens from tobacco
increase the risk for many cancer types, including cervical cancer and women who smoke have about double the chance of a nonsmoker to develop cervical cancer.

3. Use Condom: Condoms offer some protection against cervical cancer. Condom may also be useful in treating potentially precancerous changes in the cervix, Exposure to semen appears to increase the risk of precancerous changes, and use of condoms help to cause these changes to regress and helps clear HPV.

4. Nutrition

i. Fruits and Vegetables: High level of vegetables consumption were associated with a 54% decrease risk of HPV.

ii. Folic acid

Higher folate status was inversely associated with becoming HPV test positive. Most women with higher folate status were significantly less likely to be repeatedly HPV test positive.

cervical cancer causes and prevention

What is Cervical Cancer

Cervical cancer is cancer that starts in the cervix, the cervix is the lower part of the uterus (womb) that opens that opens at the top of the vagina,

Cervical cancer is sometimes called the uterine cervix. The body of the uterus is where a foetus grows. The cervix connects the body of the uterus to the vagina known as "Birth Canal"
. The part of the cervix closest to the body of the uterus is called the endocervix.

The part next to the vagina is the exocervix or ectocervix.
The place where the two parts meet is called the transformation zone.

Cervical cancer usually develops very slowly, it starts as a precancerous condition called dysplasia.
The precancerous conditions can be detected by a Pap smears and is 100% treatable. That is why it is so important for women to regular Pap smears.

Although, cervical cancers starts from cells with pre-cancers of the cervix which will develop to cancer. The change from pre-cancer to cancer usually takes several years, but it can happens in less than a year.

Types of Cervical Cancer

We have 2 main types of Cervical Cancer

1. Adenocarcinoma - Adenocarcinoma is a type of Cervical Cancer develops from the glandular cells which line the cervical canal (endocervix). Adenocarcinoma starts from the Cervical Canal and this make more difficult to be detected with cervical screening tests.

2. Squamous Cell Carcinoma - Most common type of cervical cancer is the Squamous Cell Carcinoma. This develops from the flat cells which covers the outer surface of the cervix at the top of the vagina.

how to Cancer Natural Remedies

Cancer Awareness

Cancer rates are lower in people who eat only fruits and vegetables. Cruciferous vegetables such as cabbage broccoli and Brussels sprouts help to guard against cancer because they contains the compound indol-3-carbinol which changes the way oestrogen is metabolised in the body. The more oxidant rich food we eat, the more protection we will have.

Diets high in beta carotene-are found in carrot, sweet potatoes, and dark green leafy vegetables, and water leaf. All these have shown protection
against cancer. Citrus carotenoids and flavonoids have been shown to neutralise powerful chemical carcinogens in animals. Low level of selenium has been directly linked to higher rates of cancer.

Soya beans have been found to contain at least five compounds believed to inhibit cancer growth. One of these compounds is chemically similar to the drug Tamoxifen, which is now used to treat oestrogen receptor and inhibit cancer growth.

Fiber is very important because it determine how much we excrete. Soluble fiber binds oestrogen so that it is excreted more efficiently. Chronic constipation has been linked with some cancers, breast cancer inclusive. Sometimes, waste product not properly and promptly disposed may end up in the fatty tissues of the body including the breast. The importance of fiber as far as breast cancer is concerned cannot be down played.

Women worried about breast cancer are often told to watch their intake of fat which is good general health advice. What is not pointed out is that the fiber factor increasing the amount of fruits and vegetables in your diet seems to be much more in the preventive process of breast cancer cure.

When buying fruits and vegetables, one must buy them loose i.e. not wrapped tightly in a plastic container. At home avoid using cling film and storing food for long periods in plastic containers. In the fridge you can use glass dishes with lids to store food.

Progeria Symptoms

DEFINITION OF PROGERIA

Progeria is a rare genetic disorder that causes children to age prematurely. The classic type of childhood progeria is Hutchinson-Gilford syndrome, which is commonly referred to as progeria. It is characterized by dwarfism, baldness, pinched nose, small face and small jaw relative to the head size, delayed tooth formation, aged-looking skin, diminution of fat beneath the skin, stiff joints, and premature arteriosclerosis.

Children with the progeria syndrome usually appear normal at birth. However, within a year, their growth rate slows and their appearance begins to change and age prematurely. They often suffer from symptoms typically seen in elderly people, especially severe cardiovascular disease. Death occurs on average at age 13, usually from heart attack or stroke.

CAUSES OF PROGERIA

Researchers have discovered a single gene mutation responsible for Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome.

The gene is known as lamin A (LMNA), which makes a protein necessary to holding the center (nucleus) of a cell together. Researchers believe the genetic mutation renders cells unstable, which appears to lead to progeria's characteristic aging process.

Unlike many genetic mutations, Hutchinson-Gilford progeria isn't passed down in families. Rather, the gene change is a chance occurrence that researchers believe affects a single sperm or egg just before conception. Neither parent is a carrier, so the mutations in the children's genes are new (de novo).

Treatments and drugs

There's no cure for progeria. Regular monitoring for cardiovascular disease may help with managing your child's condition. Some children undergo coronary artery bypass surgery or dilation of cardiac arteries (angioplasty) to slow the progression of cardiovascular disease.

Certain therapies may ease some of the signs and symptoms.   They include:

·Low-dose aspirin. A daily dose may help prevent heart attacks and stroke.

·         Physical and occupational therapy. These may help with joint stiffness and hip problems, and may allow your child to remain active.

·         High-calorie dietary supplements. Including extra calories in your child's daily diet may help prevent weight loss and ensure adequate nutrition.

·         Feeding tube. Infants who feed poorly may benefit from a feeding tube and a syringe. You can use the syringe to push pumped breast milk or formula through the tube to make it easier for your child to feed.

·        Extraction of primary teeth. Your child's permanent teeth may start coming in before his or her baby teeth fall out. Extraction may help prevent problems associated with the delayed loss of baby teeth, including overcrowding and developing a second row of teeth when permanent teeth come in.

Drugs known as farnesyltransferase inhibitors (FTIs), which were developed for treating cancer, have shown promise in laboratory studies in correcting the cell defects that cause progeria. FTIs are currently being studied in human clinical trials for treatment of progeria.

Bitter Leaf as Natural Medicine

The right way to take bitter leaf:

Bitter leaf should always be taken raw and fresh as an alternative health remedies. Boiling or cooking reduces the potency of the leaf. Its bitterness must not be squeezed out before eating; otherwise what will be left is mere chaff with little or no medicinal value. Remember always that raw vegetables are bitter than cooked ones and half-cooked vegetables are better than over-cooked ones.

 Medicinal value of Bitter Leaf

The following are some of the uses of bitter leaf.

1.   STOMACH ACHE

Chew the tender stem of the plant like chewing stick and swallow the bitterness.
This is a well known remedy for stomach aches. In some cases, the ache stops within a few minutes.
An alternative is to pound the fresh leaves in a mortar and press out the juice. Add a pinch of salt to three tablespoons of the undiluted juice and drink. This brings immediate relief.

2.   SKIN INFECTION

For skin infections such as ringworm, itching, rashes, and eczema, the pure, undiluted extract of bitter leaf is excellent. Simply apply it to the affected part daily.

3 GOOD FOR THE LIVER

It tones the vital organs of the organ of the body. It weighs between 1-3kg in the adult. The liver is essential in the metabolism of fats and protein; it must therefore be well taken care of. Once the liver has any defect, it is hard to correct. Every effort must be made therefore to keep the liver in good condition. Alcohol, sugar, and processed food that we often feed ourselves and the children with can weaken the liver and make it susceptible to infections.

4. DIABETES

its intake will not only reduce the sugar level drastically, it will also help to repair the pancreas. Squeeze ten handfuls of the fresh leaves in ten litres of water and take two glasses thrice daily for one month. This amounts to six glasses daily.

5. INSOMNIA:

Bitter leaf extract has done wonders for those suffering from sleeplessness. Simply take two glasses of bitter leaf solution every night. You will experience great calm and well being. You may add a little honey if you wish.

6. PNEUMONIA:

Squeeze the fresh leaves of the plant in water. Take a glass-full thrice daily. Warm the solution on fire each time before drinking. Remember, do not boil, just warm. Continue the medication for a month. You do not need to squeeze the leaves each time you want to drink it. You can squeeze a large quantity at once and add some honey. This will help preserve the solution. However, note that if you store bitter leaf extract for twenty-four hours or more, the bitterness will disappear or diminish. But the efficacy remains.

7. PROSTRATE CANCER:

Prostrate cancer is common among men who are over forty years old. Its symptom is difficult and painful urination, among others. Bitter leaf is very good for this ailment. It increases the flow of urine and reduces the pain, as well as regulates the spread of the cell. Simply squeeze the fresh leaves in water and take a glassful four times daily. Dont be surprised if you begin to urinate very frequently when you take the bitter leaf extract. It's part of the cleansing and healing process that your body needs.

8. GENERAL WEAKNESS:

Do you often feel weak and tired? Do you lack vitality and vigour? Then get up and take a walk into the bush. You don't need to trek far before you find a bitter leaf plant. Squeeze the leaves in water and take a glass thrice daily. Soon you will experience a new lease of energy.
